Spy detect is an anti-spy program. There is a variety of spy software available to record and log all information about your pc. Software that can log all keys pressed resulting in log files that reveal passwords entered, websites visited, incoming and outgoing emails and much more with times and dates! There are also spy programs that take screen shots at certain intervals logging many shots of what is being viewed. Some software will even email the logs silently to whoever installed the software. There are many anti-spy programs available that will scan your hard drive looking for known spy files but this is limited because many spy programs can be installed using random file names or you can rename the files with any name you like. Spy detect performs a scan but this is just in case you have a known spy file.
