In-process web-server implemented as asynchronous pluggable protocol with support for PHP, ASP.Net and ISAPI. Can run PHP, ASP.Net applications in trusted mode (as HTA). Requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

AbsoluteHTTP is a COM/ActiveX component written entirely in C++ that allows sending and retrieving information using the HTTP protocol. It provides asynchronous transfers with all HTTP methods (Get, Post, Head,...) and supports remote files management with Put/Delete, as well as binary format, password authentification and more. AbsoluteHTTP was created with 4 goals: ease of use, flexibility, performance and reliability.

The Whois component by Viascape, for the .NET Framework, performs synchronous queries using a Lookup method and asynchronous lookup queries using BeginLookup/EndLookup methods. Asynchronous calls can receive notification through a callback method. The whois component supports the RFC-954 Whois protocol, and can look up information for user, mailbox or domain. The code is written in 100% managed C# and is marked as CLS compliant.

Microsoft’s .NET Framework lacks classes for FTP. With KCommon’s FTP component, programmers can build Windows Forms or ASP.NET (Web Forms) apps so users can send or receive files via the FTP protocol. Operations for synchronous and asynchronous transfers are supported. KCommon’s FTP component supports passive mode, but not active mode. It is written in C# but is not marked as CLS compliant. It does not support proxy servers.

Lucigenic DNS is an advanced domain name server query COM component. Lucigenic DNS provides a simple API for domain name server lookups. Synchronous as well as asynchronous queries are supported. The component has a scalable event driven architecture and supports the concurrent creation of an arbitrarily large number of query sessions. DNS can be used with all COM aware languages and scripts. DNS does not require any runtimes.
