The Mellosoftron III is a low-latency, fully programmable, hardware-independent virtual sampler. It can be played with a MIDI controller, with the computer keyboard or with the mouse, and driven by a sequencer or by a MIDI player like the Windows Media Player.

The Virtual Sampler Library (VSL.DLL) provides applications running on Pentium-class PCs under MS Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP with a MIDI-controlled, low-latency, fully programmable wavetable module implemented entirely in software. The Virtual Sampler SDK contains the documentation and code needed to use the Virtual Sampler Library in your own programs.
