SharpZipLib is a free, open-source compression library for .NET. It supports Zip, Gzip, Tar, and Bzip2, and also computes checksums. The library currently lacks Zip file splitting/spanning, customizable self-extracting Zip files, and reading and writing directly to memory. It is ported from the GNU Classpath Zip library for Java. The library and source code is distributed under the GNU General Public License, with an exception.

ZipForge.NET is a fast and powerful ZIP compression component for .NET. ZipForge.NET lets you easily create zip files, extract files from zip archives to hard drive, add files to a zip archive, replace, move and delete files. You can also read compressed files from a zip archive into memory, and write the files from memory into a zip archive. Additionaly you can create and read self-extracted SFX archives, encrypted and multi-volume zip files.
